On May 17 local time, CMA CGM, the world’s third-largest container shipping company, and Hapag-Lloyd, the fifth-largest, announced the suspension of all new bookings to and from Cuba until further notice. This move stems from an executive order signed by the US President on May 1 that expanded the existing sanctions against Cuba.
